Simple Gaze...

It started with a simple gaze
almost powerless to unlock.
The words exchanged were so intense,
though there was little talk.

Our souls connected instantly;
I knew your pain and sorrow.
We tried to make the best of time,
unsure about tomorrow.

We kissed on the hill, so soft and sweet;
It felt as if we were free.
And in that instant something changed;
a spirit roused within me.

Now months have passed; the leaves have turned,
but not without frustration.
So many changes, emotions, and loss;
inevitable aggravation.

But you, my love, were sent to me
for reasons unexplained
And all of what does not make sense,
insight, with time, we’ll gain.

The road ahead, with bumps and curves,
will surely have its trials.
But if we keep on driving through,
we will endure the miles.
