It's time for a change.

When I woke up this morning something was different,

The sun was out and the sky was bright, but that wasn't it,

The car didn't start easily, the coffee was cold, but that wasn't it,

I knew something was better, something had changed.

Wether it was while I was sleeping or when I awoke,

While crying realizing the love that was, was really gone,

While talking to someone new and making plans,

I know something had changed.

While smirking in my knowledge of all that occured,

I know what had happened, yet I don't say a word,

I know you can't see the mark that has lifted,

I know it is only myself who feels gifted,

I want to tell someone about this event!

Yet, I smile quietly as I watch people pass by.

I let go of the pain, I wasn't looking, I wasn't aware,

Now I am ready to care,

about me,

I am better, thicker skinned, and ready for this change.
