living again

defiance of worldly pain

pain is a reality,
this i know,
i once felt it pull me,
deeper than hell.

i felt no joy
hope eluded my grasp,
i wanted to die,
to fall and crash.

but pain made me stronger,
i hold my head high,
i rose from the water,
able to cry.

the world is brighter,
i swear its true,
its easy to be a fighter
when the worlds a brighter hue.

i laugh now,
smile, live this gift,
it will end eventually,
but not yet--
it won't end yet.
