the poet wishes she could wish away cancer, war and other scourges that affect mankind |
| If I ever had three wishes I wouldn't wish for riches, I wouldn't wish for fame Cause that wouldn’t be my aim. I'd wish to find the answer To the deadly problem cancer Because children everywhere Shouldn't have to live with such fear. If I ever had the power For even just one hour I would banish hunger and famine, I’d order world leaders to seriously examine Their policies and fund less war, more peace, Then all the crimes and war would cease. If there were no war, no famine, no illness, The world would be filled with such happiness. Our children could live and play without fear, And parents wouldn’t have to shed a single tear. Honesty, peace, and love would reign supreme. That, my friends, is my everlasting dream! |
