KONINGINNEDAG


clad in orange
we browse the rummage sales
eat birthday cake
stroll the canals,
a party?

Ja voor de Queen
in lovely Amsterdam
the sun sets late
full-flower moon
and tulips?

at Keukenhof
fields of red and yellow
sea of sunshine
waves of color
Rembrandt smiles?


April 30th in the Netherlands is a national celebration of the Queen's birthday.
