poem originally for writers cramp..
Light at the end of the tunnel, poetic injustice

The train whistle sounds
like  emergency.
Frothy clouds boil over the mountains
most threatening.
The unlikely east stands off against the mitigating west;
if light’s at the end of the tunnel it’s only for the best.

Sirens howl down the hallway from coast to coast
The crowd cheers the battle
musically refraining for most
Frightened angry faces are lost in the storm
in deserts, on highways, in fanatic reform.

Half-mast to Jerry Falwell, in the moral morass
Uneven bedeviled
Unlikely half masked
Ankle deep reality, who’s side are you on?
Are you left foot or right foot or a fence sitting pawn?

Like Buddha, like Jesus, like Captain Hook
We find our just cause casting an innocent look
On Calvin, on Baker, on David Koresh.
The misty eyed and blazing, flag waving big mess.
