This is the continuation of my fanfic. |
Part 2: Changes *note: This story picks up a few months after New Moon stops and this part is the second part so go to my portfolio to read the first part. There is no prologue so far since I am trying to use Stephanie's style of writing I will re-write the climax part of the book to be vague and pull you in. When I awoke later, the sun was directly overhead. The birds in the forest surrounding us chirped happily. I could feel Edward's cool presence, and I knew that if I turned to look at him his eyes would be trained on me. His favorite past time was watching me sleep. Even though the sun was shining, a miracle in Forks, I felt cold. Maybe it was because Edward was so close to me. I was always a bit chilly with his body near mine. When my eyes adjusted to the bright daylight, I twisted my body so that I could look at Edward. He had his head propped on one hand; the other began tracing soft patterns on my bare arm. Strangely, I didn't feel the same sensation of cool burning that was expected with this sort of thing. My face scrunched up in confusion, I knew I should have some kind of reaction to his touch, but his touch felt like it was coming from another human. The expression on Edward's face was all at once curious and delighted. I glanced down at where his fingers were dancing on my skin and a gasp escaped my lips. My skin was sparkling just like his. I noticed now that my sense of smell was extremely acute. I could smell the fresh water of the brook, the wildflowers surrounding us, and the sweet smell of Edward's breath. "Carlisle said that there was a myth among our kind that a human can be changed painlessly by, well, you know..." he trailed off, and embarrassed smile reaching his lips. I looked into his eyes and another gasp left my mouth. His eyes were no longer their perfect honey color, but honey mixed with an emerald green. The paleness had left his face and it was as if a little blood flushed his skin now. Suddenly I was aware that I could hear a heartbeat, and then there was an echo to that heartbeat. Edward read my surprised expression. "I do believe that nothing like this has ever happened, and if it has, the details have been lost in the mythology. All that has been said is that it is only possible if true love is behind it all," he answered my unspoken question. He glanced at me through his lashes and I was lost in his smoldering eyes. Sadly, I am out of time to type so the rest will be up soon. |
