This monologue is a girl's reaction to witnessing the death of a close friend of hers.
Maggie: In the dead of the night, I see you.  Standing there, watching me, you stare.  I try to look away, but I can not.  You're in my head, and I fear I will never be rid of you.  Your smiling face, the glow in your eyes, you haunt my dreams, my thoughts, everything.  You invade me, mind, body, and soul.  Completely.  Waking in the night I nearly scream, trying to put the horror of that night out of my mind.  But still I see you, lying there, your eyes were not glowing anymore.  Please, let me be free!  Let me see the light of day again, let me taste the summer sweetness on my toungue!  But even as I make my plea, I know.  I will never be free.  You stole my heart so completely, and the loss of you is too unbearable.  And so, in the dead of the night, I see you.  Standing there, watching me, you stare.  Forever will the glow of your eyes consume me, burning into me.  In the dead of the night, I see you standing in the shadows, watching me with a sweet longing in your eyes.  Longing to cry out, to say your there.  Longing to hold me once more, to calm my fears and tell me it's alright.  But you can not.
