A girl remembers how she used to dream of the future.
Sitting under a peaceful night sky,
a girl stares up at the twinkling stars
deep in though, oblivious to all.
She sits there, and wonders.

When did she begin to change?
She used to have dreams.
This girl, she used to have
the whole world in front of her.

She used to dream of making it.
She was going to go somewhere,
and do something with her life.
She was going to escape this town.

She was going to become famous.
Her book, telling tales of her
avarage high school life
was going to share her story.

Her story, its not exceptionally special.
But she has a voice and god damn it,
it was going to be heard.
She was determined for it to be heard.

She felt the need to share with the world
with all the others out there that,
no matter how much you feel like you don't belong
it is possible to find, to build, a place of belonging.

Becuase thats what she, what they, did.
They, a mismatched group of teenagers,
created a sense of belonging.
They became purposeful.

But now she sits there, staring up at those stars
and wonders. When did she lose it?
When did she lose her voice?
When did she stop being her, and began to conform?

She smiles, silently to herself.
She knows, this isn't the end, though it may seem it.
This is just a deteor. Or atleast she hopes.
But, she promises herself, this won't be the end.

She will be heard. She will be noticed.
She will be herself, despite this bump in the road.
Becuase, if she gives up now, then who will tell her story?
No one. For it seems like she is the only one who still remembers.
