Originally the ending for my first story a bit modified. Still love it as a standalone
Pillars and tiles were a blurred vision as he ran pulling her behind him. His love and he had hoped one day to be his wife. She was pregnant with his child and he was pulling her along behind him, the exit of the room three-hundred yards or so ahead. He panted heavily and could hear her doing the same. Against his will he glanced over his shoulder at the pursuers. There were thousands of them, they filled the room as far as he could see. Dragons, Centaurs, Demons, Spirits, and other countless monsters filling the ground and sky of the room behind them. The exit was there he threw her ahead of him and out the exit. His hand rose in front of him and he uttered a spell. As soon as she turned around she knew what was happening. She charged back towards him but hit the barrier he had put to seal off the exit. She began to slam her fists into it over and over screaming at him to let her in. With each strike he could feel his magic essence wear off. He put everything he had into the barrier and sealed it off permanently. Nothing and no one would ever pass it again. She watched him in horror. His hair hung over his eyes and his body shook heavily with the fatigue of running and pulling her along. His body glistened in sweat and his dirt covered clothing clung to him in places. She looked into his brown eyes and she knew that he had planned this. It wasn't a rash decision and he had always been ready to sacrifice himself for her without a second of hesitation. She mouthed "No" over and over as tears ran down her face. He smiled back and a lone tear ran down his cheek as he said to her quietly "I love you". He then turned back to the horde slowly and she began to kick and pound the barrier with her fists as tears blurred her vision and she screamed "no" at the top of her lungs over and over.
Behind him he could hear her screaming ever so faintly. Time seemed to slow almost to a standstill and his senses heightened. He took in the scenery of the room that seemed to go on forever in each and every direction. The pillars supporting the room carved out of the same white stone as the floor and ceiling. The pillars were carved with an intricate design of leaves one vines that wrapped around the entire pillar time and again. There was nowhere in the room were light could of come from but the white tiles seemed to create their own lighting. He unsheathed his sword and threw the sheath itself behind him, out of the way. He held the katana in front of him and gripped the handle tightly, the grip digging itself into his palms and planting its design on them. He then looked up to the horde charging at him and gulped as time sped up again. He smirked at the horde of thousands, maybe millions and laughed.
"Goodbye my love," He spoke as he charged at the oncoming horde ready to die, "Goodbye..."
