White Plague

Greed is sickness, with a life cycle not unlike those of many parasitic bacteria.

This white plague has nearly spread
Across the lands of every continent.
Its an imperialistic sickness
That won’t ever allow your heart’s content.

From crusader conquering peaceful people,
As if it were an accomplishment.
Turn to conquistadors claiming
Land rights over the native occupants.

It does not make sense trying
To justify with divine providence.
That’s non-sense talk, since Columbus.
Still oppressed folk are not convinced.

But if you’re not convinced, they start cocking guns,
Just to convince you, there’s no stopping them.
Then, people stock guns, trying to topple them.
But soon, its right back where it had all begun.

That same white plague survives
From oppressor to successors hopping and
Infecting the wishes of the ambitious
Whom politicize and fill coffins up.
