Silent Pain

Walking in the darkness
Absorbing all my pain
I feel my hurt surround me
As I traverse a moonlit lane.

I grit my teeth and stop
I want to let it go
All the emotions that bind me
are extra baggage I stow

They weigh me down in silence
I've endured this far too long
I don't now where freedom's hiding
Or what I'm doing wrong

How to let it out
When more will fill it's place
The pain is all around me
Filling every space

I'll endure a while longer
And just wait it out
There's no other way around it
that's not filled with fear and doubt
