Behind the waterfall So cold, so dark, so damp, Yet so peaceful, so stunning, though hidden Behind the transparent sheet of the waterfall See the water drops glistening In the golden rays of the sun An illuminating lion trying to seep through The curtain of water pouring down Crashing, slapping, splashing, Against the sparkling surface, Exploding into white froth below Hear drops of water dripping Onto the slippery wet rocks As all sounds outside from this sanctuary Become one big sea of blur Listen to the sounds of nature, Playing this sweet melody, Singing this tune of splendor Taste the tiny droplets of water Gleaming, glittering, twinkling, sparkling As they rest on your lips of cotton Like dew on the blades of grass When you’re up in the early morning, Like miniscule transparent beetles, Sleeping calmly on a leaf Feel the touch of the glassy surface Of the soaked boulders surrounding you Trapped inside the mouth of a ravaneous dragon With its moist breath tickling your skin Sense the dank air inside of this cave, Caressing, so gently, your body, Brushing against your arms, legs and face Smell the sugary scent of childhood Remember you dancing in the rain Savor the aroma of good old memories The odor of fine remembrances The odor of this insouciant life, Breathe in all the beauty of this world So cold, so dark, so damp, Yet it feels so warm inside my chest Behind the transparent sheet of the waterfall. |
