Haverhill Ma, On the outskirts of town where things are normally calm and quiet still, there have been a rash of disturbances going on. The niehbors are pulling together to stop this outrage. They are getting set up to fight back and it is not against the little kids breaking into cars to take change. It is not against the teenagers that broke a car window. It is a battle with the police department. "It is absolutely ridiculous the way these police question you when you call the police. I had a cop ask me so many questions he sounded more like a prosecutor in the supreme court. He even went as far as asking me for my social security number." Says Mrs. Marlon who lives on Smart Street. Another niehbor reported that the police suggested that maybe it was her child who broke her car window. The car belonged to her child. The niehbors are signing a petition and plan on filing a complaint within the department. They say that each time a police officer shows up on scene they get mistreated and they are all done with it. The niehborhs say that if the department does not correct the way these officers are treating the inocent cilvilians they will go further with thier fight. LL Inky. The peoples news |
