words lost in noise

wrong way to be heard

words are lost within the rising volume
impossible to ignore
response is iminant
a cringe
a shiver
a grimace

have you ever seen your face
when you scream
the tightly drawn brows
the pinched face
the thin lips

that coil of anger
you think you are controling
because you are only yelling
your hands fisted
but you kept them at your side

you wonder at others reaction
you were only expressing yourself
you wanted to be heard
taken seriously

the more you speak the less others say
in your earnestness to be heard
you don't seem to care if you are understood
reactions born of fear and caution are not respect
