The Door

The Door yet bobbing in the sea
Through life it travels free
The Door of opportunity,
It opens for all, for you, for me

Sometimes it is a Door of Hope
Sometimes not even close
Sometimes we have a need to cope
With ups and down and sorrows and woes

For all our hopes and dreams and fears
For all of life in our world’s spheres
We have too few and little years
To find our truth and stem the tears

Trials faced and lives gone lost
Our minds to block that which it costs
To live our life with nary a frost
Or an end to dreams soon gone, hard tossed

The Door of opportunity
Yet bobbing in the sea
I feel great in need, you see
To have a door open for me

A life to live
Something new
Great hope ahead
For me, for you
