Baby

There is a little baby in all of us
sometimes sleeping,
sometimes making a fuss.
It's still shocked by the world
it was unwittingly dragged into
not knowing who to trust,
not knowing what to do,
unable to do much;
unable to tell the truth from the lies,
finding little comfort in lullabies.
No wonder babies cry.
