My black, icy heart's pierced with grief,
melting to this dark flamenco,
bleeding red and warm from relief.

My black, icy heart's pierced with grief,
wounded by an arrow of song.
I hear that sorrow's but a thief
I must wrestle with and be strong.

Melting to this dark flamenco,
cold winds still calling to my soul,
Miles' music repairs a hollow,
mending a jagged, gaping hole.

Bleeding red and warm from relief,
I cannot staunch the viscous flow.
For now I grasp just one belief,
Miles plays Rodrigo's concerto.
