This song is about a girl, then her child, that are learning to believe in angels. |
A small girl in her Sunday School class Looked out through the window of glass Searching the sky for a sign that God is real; She saw a cloud of peculiar shape Someone wearing a robe, or maybe a cape And she was sure it was smiling down at her; Teacher said, “Well, class is done now. You can go find your parents; I don’t care how.” The other kids leave, but the small girl stays behind… She said, “Teacher, do you know- are angels real? If so, what do they look like? Can they heal?” Teacher told her, “This I know, They watch you everywhere you go. There’s an angel knows everything you do, Your guardian angel watching over you.” Small girl grew on up and out, Got married, bought their own car and house, Soon the doctor’s saying, “It’s a girl;” Momma watched her little girl Grow into her golden curls Wond’ring what she’d say when she could talk; Then that day came right on a dime, The little girl looked to the sky, The question came momma waited so long to hear; She said, “Mommy, do you know- are angels real? If so what do they look like? Can they heal?” Momma told her, “This I know, They watch you everywhere you go. There’s an angel knows everything you do, Your guardian angel watching over you.” |
