Hiding in the Shadows

Many children suffer,
From being the third born,
Their hearts are torn.

They are forced to hide,
Forever put aside,
When the time is right,
They will come out and fight.

Soon they will be free,
They will be able to see,
The places around them,
They will treasure like a precious gem.

They will be with their family,
There to stay.

If they don't succeed,
They will only try, try again
'Till they have no power,
Till the very end.

But now they wait,
When they're ready to say,
Give us our freedom,
Or else you'll pay.

Soon everything will change,
The laws are rearranged.
Now they are free,
They're among us you see,

Look around you,
Soon you'll find,
A confident third child,
Who used to hide.
