Written after I met someone that reached in and pulled me out of that place. |
Soul’s Valkyrie Brazen satin floats gently about her face, A wind's caress doth stroke this place. A place of war, carnage and innocent deaths Lay out before her, blood on her breath. Eyes afire with fury awry Mind of steel and hate to apply Heart's pain and passion flow through her soul Her wrath and spite to take their toll. Striding boldly forward on Blade clenched in fist, emotion gone Winds whip around this slaughter site Neither a soul nor creature left alive. Not a quiver nor moan, not a tiny sound made Save the smoke and the mist and flags flayed. Crimson rivulets flow into the earth Bleeding from the bodies that have suffered her worst. Fist crunching bone and teeth alike Blade sluicing through soft flesh with spite Bathed in their blood, their screams in her mind Basking in their fear, not a tear in her eye. The carnage she lusts, flows from within Compounded by hate, and memories grim. She remembers their screams of terror and anguish A sadistic sneer on her lips doth languish From her mouth utters forth a piercing cry As a great coal stallion with flame in his eye Sweeps down from above the scorched clouds To carry his mistress, stoic and proud. Hot muscles and mane and rage alike Combine together to power this flight Breath of entwined hot steam and smoke The worst within her he doth evoke. They lashed through the sky 'top the barren ground Rotting and burning, not a living thing found. She rules this place, where none doth tread Her impenetrable fortress, ruled with dread. A hot flash of white light, knocks her off guard And she yanks on his head, banking him hard. ‘Dare the fool who invades her stone land Her wrath swirling fast, glaive summoned to hand. Down like a Hessian the two of them flew To alight on the ground, rage floweth anew. Engulfed in white power this stranger doth stood Still as a God, and utterly good. The stallion shrieks and strikes and wildly rears He spreads open his hands and says "Please do not fear," She raises her sword, blood vengeance so near Wrath flares in her eyes, her face a grim sneer. Her blade swings down, her fury unleashed She craves the killing of this invading beast. He folds his hands and bows his head Voice deep and calm, when she heard it said "You cannot hurt me; I've been where you are, Put down your sword, and take hold of my arm." Stop your hiding, fighting and headless slaughter, Come with me and I'll show you you're not her." With a will of its own her sword did sink Deep into the earth, death thus breaks this link. He raised his eyes and thus did fall Her armour and shield and hatred and all. An unbridled savage scream thus rang Her stallion enraged, and showing his fangs. How dare he take her away from him, He owned her with fear, pain and lying sin. He lunged and tore, to put a stop to her But deep in her soul, she knew was fiercer Dirk in hand, mind at ready She sank it through him, strong and steady. Reeling back, a dawning shriek Did take him up from off his feet Wings aloft, back to thee hell From whence he came, making her rebel. Gone for good was her soul’s captor All for the wisdom of one helper. He smiled down, his eyes alight, At last for once, she felt naught fright. Taking her hand he led the way Out of herself to the place she would stay Strong within herself but not with fight She knew she was home, back in the light. |
