Beloved, may your sleep be sound
As on a quiet curtained loft
Of such a down as does make soft
Your dreams and peaceful thoughts around.

If I had pow'r to send a word!
A word so perfect in its form
That anxious fears would flee your world
And tax your lovely soul no more.

Alas, I have not such a power
For fear does grip my edges too
But greater one than I, said true
That fear can't live where love does flower.
