Hatred festers.

I tried to prick it with a pin
and ease the irritation

Then anger and heat
to bring it to a head

I squeezed it and
prodded the thing

Finally, a knife
to gouge it out

Carving the pustulence
Excising the infection

To wash away
the pain.
