An older penning of mine. WRITTEN 3/26/2006
How many pieces must one heart lose
Before it crumbles
Lying in pieces at my feet
Different size chunks
For different size heartache's
How can it continue to beat?

They can start falling
At any age, anyplace
It starts as a crack in a piece of glass
Or as a chip in a porcelain doll's face

Paste or glue has no effect
No material things to fix it with
The crack's grow larger with each heartache
A fine line growing larger each day
If I ever figure out how to fix it
I will gladly sell the secret for pay

A normal heart weighs six or seven pounds
I feel mine can be measured in ounces
There goes another lying at my feet
Here comes more hurt
I feel it when my heart bounces
