ODE TO AN ANGEL

THINKING OF YOU MY PRECIOUS TRINITY

I am still missing you like crazy and as always I wish you were here with me

Even though I know this was part of God's plan - sometimes I refuse to see

Like praying for a chance to go back in the past with the hope that he might let you stay

All the while knowing my prayers go unanswered because of his need to call you away

You see my sweet angel, God's plan just for you was much larger than we could have known

Because he allowed you to touch and to change so many more lives than just our own

Your purpose was very important - now seeing just how much that I needed you

Reluctantly I guess I will let you go on - for his work's more important to do

Just please tell the Lord all I ask in return is that he keep you alive in my heart

That's not asking much - for he should know best what it feels like to be kept apart

And then you can be sure that the footprints you left shall remain with us everyday

While we all wait patiently here until our turn for you just to show us the way
