When you try to escape something, but can't; |
Devil's Circle 'Round and 'round I go. To the depths of the fire I run, unwillingly yet conciously, I burn my own soul. Each step stinging my feet as if poisonous snakes are biting me, and yet... 'Round and 'round I go. Tasting the venom on my tongue, the heat of the fire burning my face, still, I keep going forward. My soul stained with ugly scars, my heart bleeding on the inside, and yet... 'Round and 'round I go. Chasing after dreams, hoping for better, just to catch a nightmare, worse than the last, adding another ugly souvenir on the dusty shelf, the one I keep in the back, hidden even from me, hoping the dust will settle and cover them, but still... 'Round and 'round I go. The pages of my life torn to shreds, but instead to burn, they piece themselves together, holding on to each other, taking my soul apart, yet again... 'Round and 'round I go. Gripping the ladder tightly with my hands, I finally see my way out, just in time for the devil to smile, snatch the ladder from my greedy look, making me drown in my own misery, hearing the words... 'Round and 'round I go. On his way out he waved at me, smiling at me mockingly, thinking I'll never get out, yet I'll keep going until I can't go no more, with blistering feet and a burnt soul I'll find my way out, but until then... 'Round and 'round I go. |
