A poem about something that's recently become personal to me.
1 There are obvious things,
That I should write in these spaces.

The amount of talking,
Negotiating,
The things that are hardest to believe
Always turn out to be true

7 Different words are hitting me
Just like tiny little bullets,
The image in my mind
Ceases to be relaxed

The pain does nothing but increase

This is why the obvious words
Are not what I want to waste my time on,
Metaphorically tearing you
limb from limb.

16 You deserve more than that
But you're confusing so many people
They're worried,
About you

Stop all this,
Drop the act

I want to talk about someone else.

There are bleak memories.
Finally, what it needed to take you away
Something to take your face from my mind.
They're weak now, your memories.
Their strength has been outrun.

28 I want to talk about him,
But I know it will lead to
more confusion
To more hurt.
More questions,
Hands on shoulders
Hatred messages
Sly glares

36 Gossips.

I am done with this.
I don't want to hear another word.
Not from you, not from anyone.

40 We're all just fake.

Trying to fit, trying to belong to-
We're all trying to impress...

In the end,
44 Who?

Facades,
Games,
Masks we hold to pretend...
