My Daddy blames things on the dog
I know just can’t be true
He sometimes says it was a frog
or last night’s Brunswick stew.

I think that there’s an elephant
living underneath his chair,
‘cause every time I hear the “chant”
it lifts him in the air.

So if you don’t believe my tale
that the pachyderm’s a singer
Just grab him by his skinny tail
that looks like Daddy’s finger.
