I Saw Heaven Today

Poem in response to question on how I think Heaven to be.

I Saw Heaven Today

I saw heaven today,
A glimpse, a dream
Something not achieved on a whim

I saw heaven today
Fluffy clouds, bright, gay
and -
My Lord just a little aways.

I say, "Lord, here I am."
God's smile says all words
He though whispers
"You're pure, my child...
On you not a speck of dirt."

God gave me a pair of wings
White, gorgeous, just like him
Carry me from sin
Why, I am his.

I saw heaven just today
The Lord said, "I'm
With you always."
On Earth, anywhere...
The Milky Way.

I saw heaven today
Way high up from hell,
On clouds, we'll stand -
The Lord and myself.
