End Of All Things?

An inevitable slave to another’s hopes
futilely tied within a fate unknown.
Twinned emotions reflected out ways
the martyr of heartstrings shown.

Desperate to deal out twisted cards
and addle minds to the bitter truth.
Wounded hearts cry hopelessly skywards
caught in a ghost and held aloof.

A secret whisper in a mottled night
tells a dying dream a single spark,
a single word escapes a cage
and springs forth a well from the dark.
