The Distance

Far away is the distance
I always find hard to believe
How far away is the distance
One always wants to reach

Through the mad rush of a day
One picture is always clear
Nothing can wipe it away
For its a dream that leaves me in tears

Tears i don't wipe away
But when they come they make me feel light
Oh, how right it is to be there at a distance
The distance which i wish was near

The distance between god and man
That man so wishes to cross
The cross beside which i wish to stand
Leaving everything else to I can't bear
To leave everything into his hands
And stand close to him and near

The Distance i want to walk
A million mile let it be
But for his grace alone can give strength
To make that distance near

My friend I want you to be there
To be a partner on pilgrim way
The distance is little left in between
When we walk hand in hand on the way

Keep your sight on the master standing
At that distance he beckons us all
Though far he may seem in a distance
He is as close when we give a heart felt call

Lets go My friend then to him
Who chooses to free you from this waring world
To Eternal and true peace he beckons you
For he knows our true resting place

For the glory that awaits at the distance
Will be the true love you seek and so wish to find
Love so pure the world can't give
No love is greater than this my friend
To die for a friend so dear...
To Pay a eternal price for me and you
While you and me were still at a distance

The distance that we now walk
Is only to claim the prize
For which the price so dearly paid
For once and for all.
