secretly
i rode your spoon
to the summit of those lips
and shouted from their rosy crest
where peas and carrots fear to tread

i danced upon that lippy gloss
and glanced upon the promised land
where many men had gone before
though none could stake a claim

then i wondered,
in your pearly white sunrise,
how to return
and explain the pause
of a too long stare
at a far off hope
casually
