Alone

Sad things are happening
The children have stopped playing
I am standing alone
Very sadly humming
I don't remember the words to the song
but still I keep on singing
Times are short and all are gone
Leaving me to wallow in self pity
All stand still and watch me fade away
I become nothing
Standing in the same place
The rain falls in the place I once was
Then it suddenly stops
I'm all gone
I will go on
To the starry heavens above.
