A Tribute to Jesus the Christ |
POETS AND MUSICIANS DELIVER YOUR SONG To Families and Friends Everywhere Musicians yet to be born have delivered your song How do I know, you may say I am delivering it to you this day You are far above the "common throng" Because poets yet to be made Have your chiseled message laid On the hearts of thousands yet to come To read the record of you, The One Not to unearned greatness did you aspire With the grace of the ages you do inspire Musicians to set down melodies Poets to dream with awed reveries Mention of your beauty was not readily seen Except by hearts with discernment keen They speak of your discipline so rare Two thousand years with you -- they are "There" Across the passions of time These thoughts were etched into their minds O' to the beauty of Poets and songs of Musicians The righteously inclined really listen What a joy to millions you have bestowed Elusive peace you imbued as they have strove Mildness you wear as a lei upon your neck Graciousness and Goodness from every aspect None could ever know your State of Beloved From an Almighty Father who says: "Approved!" I, who have loved you imperfectly; but well, Am entrusted by Musicians and Poets to tell Unbelievable! that I am so mandated With a cultural treasure so advocated My love is my only humble qualification You accepted it upon my dedication Great things you have given from your own hand What tribute to your Father and heritage grand What can I say to you that you don't already know With Poets and Musicians, I kneel at your door Earthene Fleming 9:25 PM 9/9/2005 Author's Comments: "I thought this poem was going to be a tender love (Eros) song; but I realized by the third and fourth verses, I was really writing about Jesus Christ, my Lord, my Savior, my King. I was so astonished; the creative mind is truly a thing of wonder. I thank Jehovah and His Son for the truly undeserved gift of this poem." |
