Ottava Rima Poetry written for Day 5 of the "Rhythm & Rhyme" Poetry Contest in concert with the Talent Pond's "Winter Writing Warm-up."
Photographs on a shelf spark memories clear,
Taking me back to days of fun and mirth.
Family outings, trips, vacations so dear,
remind me gently of hist'ry's past worth.
My mother and father and siblings are here,
remembering in fondness my thought's rebirth.
Pleasures that fill my mind of day's past glees,
hauntingly completes my journey's memories.
Author's Note: Ottava Rima poems are written in stanzas of eight lines each with a rhyme pattern of abababcc. Each line should have 10 or 11 syllables, and may have one stanza or as many as you want.
