| GLOSS, THE RED SNAPDRAGON March 17, 2009 Gloss, the red snap dragon, grew by the dam and blossomed in the Queensland sun in a land called Alakazam. Artist, Dauber Palette, adored that flower, Gloss, and painted her for hours on a throne of golden moss. Together they’d brave windstorms through the sunshine or the rain. Rabbits hopped off Dauber’s brush and scampered down the lane. She tamed dragons on her canvas, bush gremlins ran away. Nightmares vanished, demons fled, when Dauber came to play Then one day it happened; a thief climbed over the hill. Dauber tried to stop him with her brushes and her will. She fought but lost the battle. Gloss was pulled and whisked away. Rain clouds formed and thunder rolled to mourn the tragic day. Without her treasured subject, Dauber’s heart was in deep pain. With every breath she learned that life would never be the same. |
