The tension in my shoulders lessens as I begin the familiar routine of setting up camp. Earth-toned fabric chairs are placed in a circle around the fire pit, hinting at the evening social events to come. A short stroll through the woods yields two heavy stones that will keep critters out of the ice filled coolers. Sleeping bags are unrolled and flashlights are left laying on pillows. Rubbing on the sunscreen with insect repellent is the final preparation needed. With beach towel in hand, I follow the winding wooden staircase to the beach. Relaxation here I come. |
