Party Platter


Friday night – at last – we thought the week would never end.
We thought we'd have some fun so we invited a few friends
to drop on by the house. We'd make drinks and have few
and we'd provide the dinner. We had an idea that was new.

When everyone was gathered, we put the names into a hat.
This would decide the menu and where each person sat.
The idea was that we'd draw two names, the order didn't matter.
One would prepare the course – the other was the platter!

From hor d'oeuvres through the salad, the laughter waned and waxed
and by the time the main course came, everyone relaxed.
We did away with knives and forks, they just were no good.
We settled on just napkins turned it into finger food.

As the drinks and evening moved on, we hit upon the scheme
to show culinary appreciation by licking the platters clean.
From nervousness to full out lust – the meal proved a success
and everyone enjoyed themselves and no one made a mess!

Not a single morsel wasted though the meal went on for hours
and the platters were so perfect that none required showers!
Finally, the coup de grâce, the last names for the night –
my girl would make dessert – I gave up without a fight.

She laid me on the table, brought out ice cream and the works!
They covered me (brrrr) but she chose the grand finale as her perk.
Lovingly arousing me I stood there proudly covered in dairy
then she covered me with whipped cream, nuts, topped off with a cherry.

I'm still not sure what happened next,
and so I still feel somewhat vexed,
but, as she laughingly tells the story herself...
"He said it looked so good that he ate it himself!"
