A dedication to My Chemical Romance, who have saved me countless times.
The bass line kicks in, his strong, terrorized voice tells me a story.
His story.
My story.
One I want everyone to hear, but they can't hear it from me.
"Can you hear me cry out to you, words I thought I'd choke on?"

His voice howls of my misery, but I smile because they're the only ones that understand.
His harsh words speak the truth, the truth that no one wants to hear.
"Cos' there ain't no way that I'm sorry for what I've done"
He bleeds into his guitar strings, "we're dammed after all",
The circles of whining notes strummed as if by a machine.

As I close my eyes they're in my head, dragging up the past, but it feels so good, it's addictive.
Surely they're mine.
My Chemical Romance.

He draws in breath and growls that he will carry on.
That's what I've had to do my whole life.
Now he is Disenchanted.
They back him up because people need to know.
And "if I'm so wrong, how can you listen all night long?"

But now everything's changing.
I've met someone who has shown me another side of myself.
I need them less and less.
So as I carefully lock up my past, I look back at the girl I used to be.
"The hardest part of this is leaving you."
They're right.
But I know that she'll always be there, just like them.

It's just...

"I don't love you like I did yesterday."
