I won’t be driven away
By words that you don’t mean.
I have loved you too long, too long.
I have dried your tears and
Kept alive your dreams.
And, who but I can understand
Your soul’s song?

Don’t be driven away
By words that I don’t mean.
For you have loved me
For so long, so long.
You I name the fabric
Of my dreams.
And my soul’s song!
