This poem is based on an event that I experienced back in 2007
As I sit here
With many tears flowing
I thank my stars
That your prayers weren’t answered

We had our problems
It escaladed and we got into it
You told me you hated me
And that you wished I was gone

I cried and cried
I felt as if I wanted to die
I tried a few times
Then I heard about your accident

You left that fateful night
All in a huff
You had no care in the world
That is until you found out

That stupid drunk
Crossed the center line
When I got the call
I broke down

I vowed
I would get the bastard
If it was the last thing
I did before I left this Earth

I am glad your prayers
Went unanswered
Because then
I wouldn’t be able to take care of you

I love you Baby
