A poem about the cage that jealousy builds.
Birds, like me, don't belong in cages.
What's the use of beautiful feathers
and long, strong wings,
if I'm not allowed to fly?

Commitment is my cage.
I fill the space between the bars.
Tempting is the voice of the world
with which she whispers "freedom."

Why is it that two birds can share a cage,
but two cages can't share a bird?
Damn man's jealousy
that holds these bars so firm!

I hope to find a love
that will come without a cage.
Someone, not to own me,
but to admire how high I can fly.
