This is my first poem written very shortly after a friend lost her battle against cancer
              Angels

Why does God take the sweetest of people
The bravest of people
The strongest of people

Let these people suffer the hardest of tasks
The most painful of tasks
The most dreadful of tasks

For him, the answer is simple
For they make the best of Angels
The strongest of Angels
The most benevolent of Angels

While we mere mortals are left in reverence
Are left blinded
Are left in awe of the person they once were
And inspired to be better than we ever thought we could be
