Who says you can't make love in the woods like our ancestors did?
“Portions for Foxes”

"And the talkin' leads to touchin', the touchin' leads to sex, and then there is no mystery left." - Rilo Kiley

I crouched down on all fours, my nose twitching as I attempted to get a whiff of Liam on the air. My paws dug down into the earth, waiting for the signal to take off. I was getting tired of waiting on this ambush. There had been a reason why I had taken off so fast and darted up the path, being careful to retrace my steps to lose him. I wanted to take him down for once.
I lowered myself down onto my stomach with a huff. Seriously, Liam, where the hell are you?
I heard a crashing through the trees. My ears perked up, excited. I rose back up into a crouch, my tail wagging profusely. I realized that it would be like a gold banner showing if he caught sight of it. I lowered it back down, allowing only the tip of it to wag gently. I heard the crunching of the undergrowth come closer and closer. C’mon, c’mon…
Just as I was ready to pounce, I realized the crunching noise had been a deer as it passed by me, hurrying along to circle around me, skirting the bushes as if it knew I was there.
Damn it. Liam, where are you?
I was getting impatient. I lowered myself back down to the cool earth. The sun was setting, and my eyes were adapting to the dimness that flanked the forest. My blonde fur was beginning to get soiled in the damp, rich dirt. And my game was getting old fast. If he didn’t come out of his hiding spot soon from his Change, I was going to kill—
I yelped out loud as a huge weight dropped onto my back. I leapt forward to get out from underneath the body atop me, rolling into the dirt and whipping around to see what had attacked me. I snarled, flashing my white teeth and black gums. My ears tucked back onto my head, tail flashing back and forth.
A wheezing noise equal to a laugh answered me. Out of the bushes came my attacker; a chocolate brown wolf larger than a miniature pony. Liam. I snorted my disgust at his prank. I turned away and stalked across the clearing, flicking my blonde tail. That hadn’t been funny. A soft whine followed me. I turned to find him in my shadow. He nudged my back flank with his nose. I kept walking, swatting his face with my tail. Liam growled, snapping at it. He missed. I coughed my equivalent of a laugh. When he charged me, I ran.
I got halfway across the clearing before he pounced on me again. I went down and rolled, knocking him off. I raced in the other direction, barking a taunt. I broke into the underbrush, lunging over the lower bushes and barreling madly through the woods. I heard him coming. I tore off the path and into a ravine, following it along the ridgeline. My tongue lolled out, my tail wagging. To run this hard and this fast felt amazing. My paws hit the ground and left it in a rhythmical cadence that made my heart pound. I hit the back wall of the ravine, turned and took back off. Halfway back, I leapt up the steep wall, digging my claws in to make it up. That’d knock him off my trail.
I carefully snuck around to the mouth of the ravine, crouching down again. Now I just had to wait for him to come back out so I could tackle him. Here he came. I could hear his breathing. When he came flying back out, I leapt, knocking flat into him. We both went sliding across the forest floor. We fought for the top position, growling and snarling playfully.
He wrestled me onto my stomach, holding me down into the dirt. He gripped the felt tip of my ear in his mouth, pulling gently as a threat not to move anymore. I waited a moment, letting all my muscles relax to let him think I had given up in surrender. I felt him release my ear from between his teeth to just between his lips, his stiff legs relaxing. I waited a moment more before bucking upward, knocking him back. I spun around and lunged, wrapping my front legs around his chest, taking his nose in my mouth. I growled.
Liam danced backwards, trying to twist his body to knock me off. He threw us to the ground, pinning me on my back. We laid there, our tails wagging quickly. I pushed my front paws up into his chest, then let go and relaxed. He lowered his body down onto mine, licking my face gently. I whined softly, returning this kisses with my own pink tongue. He got up suddenly, turning and racing back into the underbrush. I got the hint. I turned in the opposite direction, pausing once when I heard him moan. He was Changing. I dove into a separate clump of bushes, closing my eyes to hurry my own Change back.

A few minutes later, I crept out from my hiding place after Changing back, finding him standing there waiting for me. He was sweat-slicked, and so was I. He started to walk towards me. I mimicked him. When we met in the middle, he kissed me. My arms went around his neck, his around my naked waist. I raked my fingers through his hair, holding myself as close to him as possible. He grabbed my butt, holding my hips to his. I could feel the hard length of him pressed against my thigh. Oh god, we hadn’t done this in so long… The whole point of our run tonight was to just run. But I should’ve known it would result in this.
I raised my leg up to tease him, rubbing his calf with my heel. He chuckled, leaning his head down to kiss my neck. I sighed heavily. For a reward, I brought my leg up higher. His hand snatched my thigh, vaulting me up against him harder. I moaned gently.
I wrapped my leg around his waist, standing on tip toe with the other. He held me there, secure. His kisses trailed over my neck and mouth and cheeks, fervent with need. I reached down between us with my hand to hold him. He gasped loudly in my ear, turning me on all the more. I ran my hand up and down in a steady rhythm, making his breath come faster. I pulled the tip of him against me, teasing him.
“Oh, baby,” he groaned. “That’s not nice.”
I laughed softly before kissing him deeply. “I don’t care.” I kept my hand running up and down him, getting faster. Liam tore my hand away with a soft grunt. He vaulted my other leg up around him, holding me there. He kissed my mouth again deeply, inhaling fast through his nose. His knees bent, and I felt him lower us down to the ground. He laid me down gently, climbing over me. I pulled his hips down to mine, my legs staying wrapped around his waist. I reached down between us again to hold him.
“Baby, you’re getting me so worked up. You gotta stop. Or I’m gonna lose it,” he moaned in my hair. His fingers ran through my loose blonde locks. I let him go, letting my fingers play with the small of his back and the muscles there before trailing my fingernails up the length of his back, up and down. He sent one hand below to stroke me. I moaned at the gush of hot warmth that was released. I felt the tip of him brush against me again. Oh god, I needed him. I wanted him right now.
I gasped gently when he rose up to push inside. I groaned in relief soon after. He lowered himself back down to me, thrusting. My legs stretched for him. I whined. “Oh, god, babe…,” I moaned.
“Oh, you’re so tight,” he answered me breathlessly.
“And you’re so hard,” I volleyed.
He groaned, his breathing coming faster. He was getting close, and I wasn’t far behind. I echoed his groan with another cry of my own. His pace increased. I held his back, gripping his muscles. “More,” I moaned.

When it was over, we laid in silence. Liam was stretched out on his back beside me, his eyes closed. I was snuggled up next to him, resting my head on his chest. His fingers played with my hair while I let my ankle stroke his calf. I closed my eyes with a heavy sigh.
“I love you,” he murmured quietly.
My eyes opened. I turned my head to look up at him, smiling softly. “I love you too, Irish.”
