1st place winner for the writer's cramp contest |
| Just like toy soldiers, lined up in a row. Their eyes shining brightly, their faces aglow. Each one like the other, perfect, pristine. Their glistening swords polished and clean Prepared for the battle. Ready to fight. Lit up like fire by the sun's piercing light. Just like toy soldiers without souls of their own. They stand determined, for a purpose unknown. They triumph over evil with valor and ease. Reclaiming victory for those whom they please. Then just like toy soldiers with their duty done, All tossed aside, each and every one. Poetry in ABCB #24 lines For entry into the Writer's cramp contest |
