A little girl looked up at her father, her eyes watering. She had a look of puzzlement on her young face.
‘What did we do wrong, father?’ she asked. `Why were we punished so?’
‘We were here.’ her father replied. ‘We were a target.’
‘But why were we a target?’ inquired the young girl.
‘We resisted, my daughter.’
The girl nodded, slowly. ‘Oh.’ she said. ‘I didn’t know I was resisting.’
‘Come, child.’ said her mother. ‘It is time to go.’
‘To go where?’ asked the girl.
Her mother smiled. ‘To the light, my child.’
The young girl took hold of her father’s hand and smiled. ‘May I take a last look?’ she asked.
Her mother smiled. The light illuminating her was like that of an angel’s glow. ‘Yes. By all means. Take a last look at your earthly body, my daughter. But be quick. Heaven awaits us.’
