one night a young woman's life changed forever... all she was looking for was excitement. |
As soon as 9pm hit, her alarm clock went off and she groaned. Sarah's arm creeped out of her blanket blindingly searching for the snooze button. With thrity seconds of no success, she finally poked her head out of the covers and turned it off. Her phone rang right after that. Not in the mood talk to anyone, she allowed it to ring as she walked to her bathroom. After three rings, it stopped. Assuming it wasn't important, she got into the shower. Again, the phone began to ring and it was starting to freak her out. Hopping out, she ran to the phone and picked it up before the third ring. "Hello?" she asked into the phone. A sigh of relief was heard over the phone, "Sarah, thank god you are alright. I was beginning to get worried." It was her mother, again. For the past two weeks, her mom has been calling her with a prediction of something big happening in her life, though she had no clue when it was going to happen. "What is it this time mom?" Sarah asked with a groan. "A man." her mother began to say, "I saw a man. He was coming for you. He had a dangerous aura around him, black like a bottomless pit. And cold like the Arctic. He is bad news Sarah, make sure you stay away from him." Sarah rolled her eyes and shook her head, Sometimes she worried about her mom's mental health. The only sad part is that almost everything that her mother dreamed came true. And the ones that didn't just were not in the right situation. But they had their suspicions that it could still come true. Like her mom told her that she was going to get pregnant. So in order to prevent that, she forbade Sarah to associate with boys. The only issue with that was at the time, Sarah was only in the 5th grade, She had no clue what her mother was talking about. Sarah thought about what her mother said and began to wonder, "Mom? I don't think that the fact that a man is coming for me is such a bad idea. I mean, for years, I have heeded your dreams as if they were something I couldn't live without. As a result, I live a boring sheltered life, and the saddest part is that I don't live with you, but I act as if I do. And with that I have to go. I am going to be late for work. So i will talk to you later." "Sarah, wait. She heard her mom say as she was hanging up the phone. "Just listen for a second. I don't know what it is about this guy but he is trouble with a capital T. Something about him feels familiar, i think that he is the same one that I warned you about before." "Well, in that case, let him come. I can use the company for the most part." Without another word, she hung up the phone and returned to her shower. Sarah sighed in disbelief. For all these years, she always wondered how different her life could of been if she never listened to her mother. But then she gets a bad feeling, like she was now and puts the thought out of her mind. |
