Jessica decides to have a Fun Fair for the kids |
The birds are chirping, the sun is out and brighter than ever. Children laughing and playing together. As I am watching with love and amazement of how they were born into this world to bring laughter into our world. They seem to know just about anything that you can ever imagine. The imagination of a child is breathtaking and beautiful at the same time. Children gives us a chance to live and breathe the air that we have today. Then one of the children came up to me and said, “Here you go, a flower for a pretty lady.” I smiled and said, “Thank you, go play with your friends, friends are the most precious thing in the world today. You can never have to many of ‘em.” The little boy smiled and went back to his friends and told them what I told him. Then he must’ve said something to them and they all got one flower and gave ‘em to me one by one. They were all sweet to me, then I decided to go inside my home and started planning a fun day for the kids. And here’s what I got: Clowns Balloons Goody bags Sweets and lots of ‘em Burgers, hot dogs, pizza Soda Pops Face paint station Balloon darts Ferris wheel Bumper cars Water guns filling the balloons Carousel Fishing game Porter potties Picnic tables Stuffed animals to be won I just hope the kids would love these things that I’m giving them, since they did give me flowers I will give this list to them. One of the children came up to the glass door and knocked. I looked up and went to open the door, saying, “Something wrong.” “No, we were just wondering if you were coming back outside again.” I smiled again and said, “Give me a couple minutes.” “Okay, bye Miss Dolley.” I smiled and walked back outside, watching them play once more, one them came up to me and said, “What were you doing?” “Well, I started a list for all of you.” “What kind of list?” “Something special.” “Cool, can I see?” “Not yet but you get to see it next Saturday.” “Awe man, why not.” “Because I said so, go play.” “Okay.” He went back to his friends and told them what I said. They all said the same thing, “Awe, man, that’s not fair.” I laughed and sat down. I was looking at the list and I thought I would call a couple of my friends to see if they wanted to help me with the list. So I wrote their names next to what I want help with: Clowns Chris Balloons Chloe Goody bags Brad Sweets and lots of ‘em ME Burgers, hot dogs, pizza ME Soda Pops ME Face paint station Peter Balloon darts Paul Ferris wheel Suzy Bumper cars Carmin Water guns filling the balloons Joanie Carousel Sarah Fishing game Kyle Porter potties Mattie Picnic tables Braddie Stuffed animals to be won Cindy All I have to do is cook and give out soda pops or water to everyone at my Saturday activities. I went back inside and started calling them, they all said they would help me out cause they had nothing to do that day. And guess which one is my boyfriend it’s name next to the clowns on the list. He sure can make me laugh and the children too. So the next couple days I have been working hard on this list of mine. We are almost done and Chris knocked on my door and I opened it by saying, “Hey Stud.” “Ah, I love it when you call me a stud.” “I know you do.” “Well we have everything done for Saturday.” “Perfect, they will love it, all I have to do is go door to door and give out the flyers. Wanna help me tomorrow?” “Why not, maybe we can get the gang to help out too.” “That would be great and afterwards we can get a bite at Frankie’s, my treat.” “You are too good to be true, that’s why I asked you out.” “I know, plus I could never resist your amazing charms.” He put his hand over his heart and said, “Ah!” I smiled and laughed, I was about to give a kiss one of the boys knocked on the glass door, I walked over and opened it, saying, “Whatcha need?” “Nothing, you coming out.” Then Chris said, “We’ll both be out there.” “Cool, can we play touch football.” “I don’t know, think this basketball would work any better.” The little boy’s eye widened and said, “Duh, let’s go.” I said, “Give me a couple minutes and I’ll meet you there.” “You got it beautiful.” He kissed me on the cheek and left with the children. I closed the glass door and locked it, as I grabbed my cellphone and locked the main door. I walked to the basketball court and so far Chris is beating the children’s butt. After Chris’ ball got bounced off the rim one of the little boys took it and dunked it, saying, “Oh yeah, Oh yeah, that’s right, whooped your butt old man.” Chris just looked at him and said, “Old man my butt, start running.” The rest of the children cheer the boy on, telling him to go faster and a couple minutes later, Chris caught him, tickling his sides. The boy was laughing at Chris and kelpt on calling him an old man. I was laughing the whole time, Then the boy said, “Let’s get Jessica, she’s laughing at us.” Chris said, “Let’s get her from behind.” Chris and the boy was going towards the bathroom and I wasn’t really watching them, I was watching the children play and started tickling me from behind. I was laughing big time and kept on saying, “Okay, I give, I give.” Chris said, “Say uncle.” I said, “Uncle, uncle.” Chris looked the kid and gave each other high fives for tickling me. Chris said, “Alright, dudes and dudettes, let’s get back before mommies and daddies find out that you’re missing.” We all walked back and some of the parents were relieved that their children came back. I said, “I’m sorry, the children wanted to play football but instead Chris took to play basketball instead.” They were okay with it, Chris said, “I’m beat, can I shower at your place.” “Yeah, I’ll even cook for you too.” “Hmm, whatcha gonna make.” “I don’t know.” “Maybe we can go out.” “Okay, but your clothes stink.” “Yeah I know.” “Just throw ‘em out the bathroom door and I’ll wash ‘em for ya. While they’re getting washed I’ll take a shower too.” “Wear something casual, okay.” “Okay.” So he went into the spare room’s bathroom and started throwing his clothes out the door. I came in and grabbed them. I got them in the washer and went to take a shower. Ten minutes later, I got done and started getting dressed for dinner. The doorbell rung and I went to the peephole and it was a stranger, I said, “Who is it?” “I’m looking for a friend, I believe you know him.” “What’s his name Chris Harper.” Chris came out of the bathroom with a towel over his head and said, “I’ll take care of it, go get ready.” “Okay.” Chris opened the door and said, “What do you want, Meyers?” “We have a game Sunday afternoon, coach just sprung it on us.” “Dang, you said Sunday right.” “Yeah.” “Okay I’ll be there.” “Great, see ya Sunday.” “See ya later.” I came out and said, “What was that about?” “We have a game coming up, good thing I already practiced.” “Yeah, good thing.” I turned around and he came after me, saying, “Look, this is my career now, and I really do love you a lot.” “I love you too, but I hate it when you leave for a game.” “I know you do, I’m sorry baby.” “It’s okay, is the washer done?” He looked at it and said, “Yep, I’ll put it in the dryer, how long do you put it.” “To get it warm enough, I’d say 30 minutes.” “Maybe we can have a short nap before dinner.” “Sounds good to me.” I yawned first then he did it too. I set my alarm on my phone and we slept. 25 minutes later, the alarm went off. I hit the off button and started pushing Chris, He said, “Huh, what, what happened?” I almost laughed and I said, “I’m hungry.” “Okay, let’s go.” He took out his clothes and put ‘em on. We went to a nice restaurant and ate out. After we were done, he took me home and left. I started baking a cake big enough for the entire community. It took me 14 hours to make and I was tired, so I laid my head done and slept on the table. Four hours later, I heard knocking on my door and opened it. It was the whole gang here ready to give out the flyers for Saturday’s fun and activities. I said, “Come on in.” When they all got in, one of them said, “Wow, Jess, you went all out for the children didn’t ya.” “I’m crazy about ‘em. Ready to give the flyer out.” “Ready when you are.” “Okay, meet back here, once you’re done.” “Okay.” So it took us a few hours to give the flyers out and we got back to my place and Braddie said, “All of the flyers went out and everyone is happy to come, some of them wanted to know if they needed to pay to go, I told them it was free.” I said, “Good, I hope they have fun tomorrow.” Sara said, “I’m hungry.” Paul said, “You’re always hungry.” “It’s not my fault that you got me pregnant.” So we went to Frankie’s and of course I paid. The next day, we were all at the Fun Fair, which I created. The children had a blast and we were all happy for them. THE END |
