Free Verse # 9

Day by day I walk a road of pitfalls
At times I have tripped
Some times I have fallen

Day by day I walk down the same road
Nothing has changed
All is the same

And yet day by day, though I’ve been on this road
All familiar
I’ve seen everything

The same fear snatches in my heart
That I might fall again
And not be able to get up

But the same Voice calls to me
Everyday that I walk
Traversing this road

The same Hand gently leads me
Keeping me from harm
Picking me up when I fall

And my fear I start to leave behind
My heart grows calm
My mind finds peace

And though I know that fear will continue to stalk me
It would not matter
I close my eyes and pray

And when I pray I no longer doubt about tomorrow
A Voice stills my heart
A Hand touches my inmost being

He has a great plan for my future, He says
And I find hope
I find God
