My Anger



I am an angry American

         I have seen my constitution

         Degraded by the act of a patriot

         I have seen my government          

         Sold to the highest bidder

         I have seen my leaders

         Resort to torture in the name of security

         I have seen our sons and daughters

         Die on foreign soil for lies and profit

I am an angry Christian

         I have seen my faith hijacked

         By Pharisees full of conceit

         I have seen the teachings of my savior

         Perverted by men full of hate

         I have seen the message of love

         Replaced with stones of intolerance

         I have seen derision and bitterness

         Toward those stricken down by life

I am an angry citizen of the human race

         I have seen misery and suffering

         And walked away

         I have bitched and complained

         Then went on with my life

         I have blindly believed in leaders

         Without fully realizing responsibility

         I have seen the problems

         And have never actively been a solution
